Watching these two find each other, fall in love, and build their faith as they served for a year of internship at Camp Au Sable has been beautiful. We love them dearly and look forward to seeing the journey that God takes them on in the years to come!
“Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times.” ~Ann Landers

I was so blessed to be able to make the trip to the Upper Peninsula to capture some of the beauty of Vicktoria & Tyler’s Friday June 8 wedding just a week after the west coast wedding. The day was perfect, full of love and laughter and friends! We loved spending the day with you and look forward to seeing the way the Lord leads you both in the years to come!

I am often asked if I can photograph weddings. The answer is “Yes!”, but there are almost always conflicts of time, schedule, or religious convictions. A lot of people choose a Saturday to say their vows and celebrate their commitment to each other, but I am not available for any photography sessions or events on Saturdays. So when Alanna told me her wedding was going to take place on a Monday, I was ecstatic to be able to work with her to capture her wedding day!
It was a beautiful snowy day at Camp Au Sable to witness the love these two share!
Praise God for His faithfulness and loving kindness in bringing Alanna and Danny into a happy marriage and a life of service!
May He always bless your home with joy!

These two gorgeous parents-to-be were up from Florida visiting family last March when we met up in Grayling for some **cold** winter morning pictures! Thankfully we didn’t spend too much time outside before coming in for a few studio portraits to complete their maternity session.
Thank you so much for coming to see me while you were in Michigan! And congratulations on the birth of your beautiful baby girl last summer!

Maria came to see me last fall for her Senior Portraits while the brilliant colors were at their peak. We had a great time wandering through the park and downtown Grayling during golden hour and right at sunset for these images!
Thank you Maria! I’m so glad you came to me for your senior pictures!

I just LOVE spring blooming orchard pictures! I can’t wait for this year’s warm weather to pop open those beautiful, heavenly white blossoms!
Kari, the incredibly talented artist at August Afternoon Photography is such an amazing person who inspires me so much! I love her to death and look forward to the times we get to work together! Especially when that means I get to capture her and her sweet family!
Our spring pictures last year had two very special assignments:
*spoiler alert! Baby brother was born in December 2017! (I’m constantly behind on this blogging thing!)

Nothing makes me happier than an orchard in bloom! Such wonderful glowing beauty surrounding everyone in the gathering golden hour sunset. I love it! I’m looking forward so much to this year’s spring warmth and orchard blooms!
Thank you so much, Kelly, for bringing your beautiful family to me again – I’m already planning this year’s portraits with you! It’s such a joy to me to watch your family grow and to be a part of creating these images for you.

Last fall I met up with the F. Family at their family farm to update their pictures before the holidays! They have the most magnificently beautiful children who are sweet as can be but still have those impish smiles you see below! It was a cool evening but with some snuggles, warm hats, and cozy blankets, we kept warm.
Thank you again for bringing me into your home and letting me capture your family and the wonderful connections between you!

You know those days when you realize you have completely forgotten to squeeze in your own family for a session in the middle of busy season? When Grandma is wondering when she’ll see the traditional yearly capture of her grandkids, it’s November already, and the color in the foliage is so faded it’s actually non-existent? How about those days when you think it’ll work out just fine to get the kids ready for a photo shoot after school, drive half an hour, and still catch the light…..but then you realize Daylight Savings Time just ended and that means the sun goes down IN LIKE TEN MINUTES?!
Yes, it was exactly one of those days when we hurried off to find a tiny pocket of light, hoping to capture this moment in their lives before time raced on again. And you know what? I’m glad we did!
I’m always glad when I can look back and see these days, the hectic stress falls away and I remember these smiles and see how quickly they’re changing, growing, creeping closer to the day when they won’t make my laundry pile higher or leave socks out in the dirt, when there won’t be so many meals to fix or dinner plates to wash. Capture these moments while you can! You won’t regret it.

Brooke is the third graduate in her family to come to me for their senior portraits. I’m so incredibly honored by their family’s continued support of me, especially considering that they drive all the way up to Grayling from downstate! Brooke’s session was the first at our new location and it was on a beautiful fall day, perfect for the various places we have right at our fingertips. The boardwalk with it’s close canopy of cedars, the swinging bridge, the fall grass at the lakeshore, and, of course, the gorgeous golds and reds of the tamaracks and maples in October.
Congratulations to Brooke – a 2017 graduate! We wish you the very best as you leap into your next adventure! Thank you for letting me be a part of this special moment in your life!
